Gauss worked as a therapy dog at the Robert Wood Johnson Children's Hospital for two weeks and I thought he did great,
but he was "let go" b/c he wasn't "docile" enough.
On our first visit we went to HemOc (hematology-oncology) where we visited with one little girl. The rest of our night was
spent in the pediatric unit. Our entire second visit was in pediatrics.
I cannot find the words to tell you how gratifying it was to see these kids smile from ear-to-ear. Even to see one of their
smiles made it so worth bringing the dog out in the pouring rain. Of course I carried him under a blanket to the car and
then we parked in the parking garage. We can't wait to go back. Gauss will continue to volunteer with his daddy at the brain-trauma
rehab center.
